HELP!! words to describe... i'm drawing a blank
if i were to write "$1,000.00"
vs.
"one thousand dollars and no cents"
how would i describe the two.
one is numerical?
the other???
what is the term/phrase to describe the act of using digits or words to say a numerical value?
thanks for any and all help

I would just say the top one is "in numerals" and the second one is "in words."
I think that would be very clear to anyone who needed to know. Are you looking for something fancier / more legal-sounding?

i googled it and it said its called writing it out in longhand.
