For all of you animal lovers looking from something different to do this weekend - The Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter is hosting a big adoption event and tag sale on Saturday & Sunday, May 1st and 2nd from 9 am to 4:45 pm. There will be free cat and dog adoptions (although there is an application process). They're also having a tag sale to raise money for the "Tails of Hope" fund.

If you're ready to welcome a dog or cat into your home, please adopt from a town shelter as they are very overcrowded due to the economy. Hope you'll choose to rescue an animal and provide it with a forever home.
