Help..not sure what to send..for Jewish Families
An extended family member's father just passed away. They will be sitting shiva, he worked for a school and from what I understand the school will be providing food and such. Should I bring a plate of food or is there something else I should do? Thanks for your help.

Honestly, you really don't HAVE to send anything as long as you're going, yourself. But if you want to, Ben's makes it really easy. They even have a specific menu for condolence calls, and you know they're kosher.

Ben's is kosher style, not kosher. But, you don't have to send kosher unless they keep kosher.

Maybe it depends on the Ben's. The one near me is kosher. You just have to check that, I guess.

Ben's is Kosher, but not Glatt Kosher, so orthodox Jews don't eat it.
If you're going to the shiva, you can bring a fruit platter, nuts, cookies, etc.
If you're sending something, Bens is a good idea. When my mom was sitting shiva, we actually got so sick of cold cuts, and were thrilled when someone sent kosher italian food!
