Help...pants too tight and bella band is ugh...
My pants are getting too uncomfortable to wear buttoned at this point. I used the bella band and hated it...it rolled up and was just akward. DO you recommend non-maternity pants that I can buy that are comfy that I can wear for a bit before I actually have to buy maternity pants? TIA!

IMO, i think you should just go get a pair of maternity pants- there are all different types of waists that will totally fit you now- i LOVE mine- I went right from my regular pants to these, and skipped over my fat pants and the bella band because it was more comfortable, and now that i have a bigger belly, they are still growing with me...

I was wearing Old Navy sweatheart - curvy jeans up until 17 weeks. They have a bit of stretch in them and hit below the belly. I found them very comfortable.
I also have more of an hour glass shape (think azz & thighs ), so they fit me very well. I will look for a link.

we have the same body type. Thanks for the suggestions.
I am only 9 weeks so I think it's way too early to start with the maternity...maybe it's a mental thing!

I have a couple of pairs of pants that I've been able to wear my entire pregnancy because they sit so low on my waist. I agree that you should just go for the maternity pants, but if you absolutely don't want to then just look for pans with a really low rise.

I totally agree with getting the secret fit pants. They are so comfy and at 25 weeks I am still wearing them.
For me the styles only lasted a couple of months comfortwise and were a waste of money.

I totally agree! I was so happy after I got them and don't know how I'd live without them now. No one even knows they are maternity and they weren't expensive at all so made total sense to buy them.
I love them so much that I'm going to be so tempted to wear them after DC is born!

I bought the NY & Co knit pants in one size bigger. They're stretchy and really comfortable! I think I was able to wear them up until 14 weeks or so. Maternity pants were still too big on me at that point.

seriously, i wish i had gotten these pants earlier!! they fit perfectly even if you don't have a preggo belly yet and they grow with you really well. best pants EVER!!! plus they are cheap and that way you won't spend a ton of $$ on pants you will only wear for a few weeks.

Re: Help...pants too tight and bella band is ugh...
In the beginning I bought bigger pants - I went up a size from my normal one. It was a waste of $$$.
Then I went to NY & CO and got the stretchy pants. They were great but lasted just a few weeks.
I felt like it was too early for me to go into maternity (my own weird thing) and I wasted so much $$ on things that are taking up space in my closet.
Get the "real waist" Old Navy maternity pants - you will grow into them.

I bought my first pair of maternity jeans at 10 weeks. My suggestion to you (if you can't handle buying maternity just yet) is to dig through your wardrobe and see if you have any pants with an elastic waistband - then wear them!

Re: Help...pants too tight and bella band is ugh...
so, there are several styles of maternity pants.... The first couple pairs I bought did NOT have that spandex band around the top.... they were merely regular elastic wasit bands.
I switched into maternity pants at about 10 weeks. sure, they're a bit loose, but they stay up just fine, and unlike walking around with pants unbuttoned, I didn't feel awkward at all.
Now at 13 weeks, I can wear regular maternity pants.... they're still a bit loose, but super comfy.
Maternity pants are sooo much more comfy than regular pants... it's all about those elastic waist bands.... no pinching

Re: Help...pants too tight and bella band is ugh...
Maternity pants are so comfy!!! In the beginning I liked the "real waist" pant or the pants that sit below the belly. Now that I am huge I wear the secret fit belly pants. If you are still trying to "hide" your pregnancy, you can go to Target or Old Navy and buy some pants that are a size bigger. Thats what I did before 12 weeks when no one knew I was pregnant yet. I was afraid someone would see the strecthy band and figure it out!

Kohls and Walmart have very cheap maternity clothes too if you are not ready to splurge on maternity stuff yet.

You should check out Old Navy - I lived in their maternity clothes - they are like regular clothes but with a very thin elastic band - they are perfect for the not yet popping belly, but not fitting into regular clothes....

i know it's a mental leap, but you will feel soooo much better! also, the maternity jeans i bought around 10 weeks i am still wearing now at 38 weeks, just below the belly like low riders. i just bought one pair of jeans at that stage and one pair of black pants, both $25 or less at gap. they did the trick for quite some time!
