It seems like more and more people are taking their dogs off leash when/where they're not supposed to be. Sorry that happened to you, I hope your DD is ok
You're right. I sent my dog to school for "off leash training" and I still would never let him run amok unless it is on my property.

Dogs should not be let off leash in public for many reasons so in that sense you are correct in being upset and angry. On the flip side, you might want to start working on your daughter's fear of dogs by introducing her to well balanced dogs in a safe and controlled way. JMO!

Thank you for the suggestion. She has been introduced to a variety of dogs. I happen to love dogs and do not shy away from them. My SILs all have dogs as does my mother and many other relatives. She was ok until one of my SIL's dogs, who is adorable but a big lump, jumped on her and knocked her down and licked her to death. It scared her. We are working on it. My other SIL has a small dog that was being trained for hospital visits and is a great dog. We try to let her play with him often but she is just afraid that of them. But we will work on it more. But I can't blame her when a dog that was easily 80lbs comes barreling into her car and she is locked into a seat. I think I might be scared too.
