here is the NEWS12 ARTICLE FOR MEASLES
(04/07/08) MINEOLA – The Nassau County Health Department says hundreds of Long Islanders may have been exposed to measles last Thursday.
According to department officials, an individual with the disease shopped at several stores in Westbury’s Fortunoff Source Mall on that day. Those stores include Gymboree, The Children’s Place and Old Navy. The person also used the restrooms between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
In addition to the stores at the Source Mall, the person also went to a Verizon store, a Washington Mutual and the Aries Nail Salon on Central Avenue in Cedarhurst between 5 p.m. and midnight.
People who have never had a measles shot are particularly at risk. Symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose and red eyes.
People who think they may have been exposed are urged to call their doctor immediately.
