Hereditary
Did you girls have twins in your family?
If so who?
Just curious, i have always heard the skips a generation theory....
Anyone know how it is passed (like through the woman or the man or both)
My great grandmother is a twin and they all thought one of my moms brothers or sisters would have them... Of 8 kids....NONE of them did...

Re: Hereditary
Twins don't run in my family per se.....I am an identical twin, but we were the first. My mother didn't even know she was having twins until we arrived! They didn't do sonograms back then unless they thought something was wrong, so the doctor never knew!

Re: Hereditary
From the research i have done identical twins don't run in families...they are more a medical mystery. Fraternal twins they believe do, but the doctor said you can always be the first in your family too.
Supposedly its only on your mothers side that matters, but the skipping a generation is not necessarily true. Usually natural fraternal twins are due to a mother releasing two eggs in one cycle and both of them being fertilized. The medical community thinks that is why they might be heriditary.
Hope this helps. I feel like an expert now!
