Herniated Disk in neck
Went to neuro this AM, going for MRI (0pen) later this week. He did all these "tests" and my right side is defintley stiffer than left (neck) and when he told me to look straight ahead, I was "off" (my shoulders weren't straight and neck was tilted more to the left...I thought I was perfectly fine.LOL).
Been having headaches and he thinks it could be a neck problem. Also going to PT this week to get the ball rolling.
Anyone have a herniated disk in neck? As odd as it may sound, I am HOPING this is whats causing my headaches and just feeling a bit "off". Hoping it's nothing more!
He did give me to Rx's which I filled, but, pills are to take ONLY as needed! They make you drowsy and taking care of the kids, well, that's not a good thing (one is a muscle relaxer).
Any special pillow(s) I can get to help me sleep more comfy at night?
TIA for ANY advice!

Re: Herniated Disk in neck
Yes. I have multiple herniations in my neck and in my back as well with some nerve damage from a bad car accident many years ago. It is VERY painfull but PT does help. If you have any questions at all please ask.

Re: Herniated Disk in neck
i have one in my neck. it can definitely cause headaches. i use the contour pillow. i cannot sleep with anything else. you should really see a neurosurgeon. if it's very bad you may need a fusion. Dr. Vincent Leone in Great Neck is one of the best!

Re: Herniated Disk in neck
yes, i have 2 in my neck and 1 in my lower back. been dealing with the neck ones for close to a year now. i've done PT, epidurals, pain meds, and other meds that are supposed to suppress the nerve pain.... so far nothing has helped well enough and i am seeing a surgeon tomorrow for a consult. (i've already had 2 back surgeries on my lower back and i've already seen that surgeon a bunch of times about my neck.) i hope the PT helps, most herniations do get better over time. i don't happen to be in the majority on that case, my MRI's done 6 months apart have shown no improvement at all. if you have any specific questions feel free to PM me.

Re: Herniated Disk in neck
I have one. Def causes pain and headaches. I use a special pillow called the Wal Pil-O. I can't sleep without it or I am dying.
