Hershey Park- Prices? Edited with another question...AND another question!! LOL
Can someone give me an idea of the admission prices? Their website keeps saying it's too early for 2017 info and to come back later.
I just want a general idea of what an admission ticket costs and what it includes. Does it include the water park as well? Or do you pay separate for that? What about the zoo?
Added another question below......
Added a hotel question below....

Hershey Park- Prices?
I'm not sure of the regular prices but, the discounted tickets through our town were $49 for adults and $38 for kids 3-8 last year.
The ZooAmerica website said Hershey Park guests can visit the zoo free of charge. The waterpark is included.
We are looking to go this summer as well.

Hershey Park- Prices?
I dont remember the exact price ( its been a few years since I went), but we purchased our ticket through this link. It usually seems like the best price, if you want to look closer to summer :)

Re: Hershey Park- Prices?
I think it was around $40 per ticket with discounts. Can't remember. We stayed at Hotel Hershey and the pool was really nice. We liked our resort experience much better than the amusement park portion. We went during a busy time and the lines were really long.
You can go to the zoo as part of normal admission but you can also go to the zoo by itself and it is much cheaper. My friend treated us but I think it was like $10 and we spent half a day there because we didn't go to the zoo portion on the day we went on rides and to the water park.

Re: Hershey Park- Prices?
How many days are needed at the park?
If we are interested in dry rides and the water park? Keep in mind the kids are all 6 and under so they can't go on ALL the dry rides- they will be limited to things for like 42-48 inches .
Can we do it all in one day or no?

Hershey Park- Prices? Edited with another question
If you are going in the Summer, 2 days for sure. It's really crowded there in the Summer and the waterpark is always mobbed (I actually hate their waterpark to be honest)

Re: Hershey Park- Prices? Edited with another question
DS is 6 and we always do one day, including the preview. The preview gets you 2.5 hours the night before. So if they are open until 10, you get to get in the night before at 7:30 for free.
We find that to be more than enough but we also don't do the zoo.
We do dry during the preview, a couple of dry rides the next morning, then wet all afternoon until dinner, then a few dry before we leave.

Because of the accessibility of the attractions. Everything has to be entered through a queue, even the wave pool, and when it's busy, you are waiting in line to go into the splash area, or the little kid wave pool. It's hard to get chairs, the food lines are extremely long, and the big splash area with the slides and dumping buckets present a problem keeping track of your children since it's so big. I also don't like having to dry off, and put clothes back on to schlep around to the dry rides. We love Hershey, but we definitely aren't fans of the waterpark area!

Also, as far as tickets, you can get a good discount though the PA Boy Scouts (open to the public). http://padutchbsa.org/discounted-hersheypark-tickets/
Also, if you have friends that will be going, you could coordinate a group discount. I have done that a few times. You all don't have to travel the same day, you still get the free preview the night before and the zoo admission. You get 2 free for every 20 you order or something like that.

Re: Hershey Park- Prices? Edited with another question
when we went, we got discounted tickets at the Hershey Lodge. They were $38 for adult, and forgot for kids. The zoo WAS extra. The waterpark is included. We went in October, so the waterpark was closed. We stayed 3 days and 2 nights. That was plenty, plus you want to go on the Hershey tour and make your own bars.

Our waterpark experience was absolutely horrible. Everything had a 30+ min wait, even the water playground for little kids. After waiting for 45 min and we were right about to go in, some kid sh*t in the water so everyone had to vacate the area. Wasted almost an hour for nothing. It was truly an awful experience.
Like pp said, even the wave pool had a line. I have never been to a place where you had to wait for a pool. we didn't wait for that pool but pretty sure someone had an accident in there too and they shut it down for a while.

I disagree. We have season passes, so we go fairly often. I've never felt like it's overly crowded. Obviously it's not Disney, but, comparing it to their crowds, it's a cake walk. I never get the feeling in Hershey that I do when we're in Disney, if that makes sense. We've never had a problem finding a spot to sit or put our stuff. We've never gotten a locker either. It's the summer, so the water slides will have a little wait, but nothing worth complaing about. I do have to agree with the big splash area though. It gives me palpitations. It's huge, and if you have to keep your eyes on more than one kid, you'll go crazy! I try to avoid this area because honestly, it scares me. Aside from that, we love it. Hershey is one of our favorite places.

Re: Hershey Park- Prices? Edited with another question
We went when my boys were 6.5 and 3. We arrived around when the park opened and stayed late, but we were able to get to most of the rides and the water park. We went to chocolate world too, but not the zoo.
We were there in August. I don't remember the water park being more crowded than any other amusement park. There were waits for the tube rides, but DS2 had no problems playing in the water areas for little kids. We also split up on the dry rides when there was a long line for the roller coasters that DS1 wanted to ride. The nice thing was that there were enough rides for DS2 to go on nearby while one of us waited in line with DS1. I think 1-2 days is plenty.

Re: Hershey Park- Prices? Edited with another question
We've gone twice. First time we did the twilight where we got there a few hours before closing. That was the best time bc the boys went on a ton of rides. The second day was a little more crowded, but not too bad. We were there till late.
Last year we got tickets for one day. We got there early and hung out at Hershey World. After we did shopping and the ride we had an early dinner and then did the preview at the park. Again we were able to get on a lot and stayed till close. THen next day we did rides, water park, dried off and a few more rides and then left after dinner at 6:30PM. WE were home by 8:30'ish. I think we'll do that from now on. If your kids don't mind staying up later the preview night is great. we have gone Sunday to Monday so DH only takes a day off. It's only about 2 hours from where we live in NJ. Got discount tix through boy scouts website.

Hershey Park- Prices? Edited with another question
We went the end of August last year and we loved the water park. Hardly any waits and spend hours in the small kid splash pool. It was hot!

We've gone every summer for the past 4 years & have the same experiences as this. We go in the middle/end of july for a bday & I never found it to be so overly crowded & unbearable. You will need 2 days for sure. We usually do 3 days because we love Hershey.

Re: Hershey Park- Prices? Edited with another question...AND another question!! LOL
Thanks all for the advice and opinions.
What hotel do you recommend?. Hotel Hershey is too pricey for this trip.
I heard good things about Hershey Lodge but saw some bad Trip Advisor reviews that turned me off for the money.
Is Eden too far?
Anything else nice in the area?

Eden is too far IMO, especially if you are doing the free preview. Marriott Residence Inn Harrisburg Heshey is good. We have stayed there a few times. Indoor and outdoor pools free breakfast and free appetizers on weeknights. 10 minutes to park. Not resort like in the sense that Eden is.
We have also rented from owners of the Suites at Hershey....love it there. I find it on ebay

PS if anyone wants group rate tickets I am organizing them this year. I will post a pic of prices when I get to my PC. Adults are $36 I believe and 3-9 something like $30
