Hi! I am new here

I want to start by congratualting eveyone - it is very exciting. I had been lurking the inferility board while going through my IVF treatments.
Yesterday was 8 days post fresh embyro transfer, i went fopr blood work and the office called to tell me i was pregnant.
I am not familiar at all with these beta numbers but i was told mine is 166. Is this a strong number? i understand the important thing is for the number to double every 3 days but was wondering if it indicated anything?
For the women with multiples what was your beta @ 7-8 days post transfer?

thanks for your help understanding this,
melly

Re: Hi! I am new here

Congrats!! You really can't tell much from the first beta besides that you are pregnant. I have been pregnant with a singleton, twins, and triplets, and none of those times was I able to tell anything from my first (and even second!) beta.

With this current pregnancy, my beta at 8dp5dt was in the 370s and I had twins originally. The only real indicator is to go to your first sono and even then you just have to keep hoping they are both still there till you're in a safer point in the pregnancy.

A pregnancy is such a miracle in any amount (one .. two .. three babies .. etc) .. so take in the moment and be excited that there is at least one in there!! That's what's most important!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

eta: Not sure where you were told it should double every 3 days, but it should really be doubling every two. Good luck!!!

I am thrilled to be pregnant and just hoping for a happy healthy baby. There were times I never thought I would even get to this point so i have some questions.
