hi I'm a newbie & I already have a question

Hi there!

My name is Christina & I was married on 3/3/07. I just crossed over from Liw.com and my screen name is pretty much the same.

so here's my question:

My hubby will be turning 30 on 9/14/09
and I wanted to throw him a BIG surprise party. I wanted to rent a really nice hall in LI. but here's the problem, we have 1 bank acct. that we share & that's it. no seperate accts. so how can I keep this a surprise? how can I pay the hall and still keep this a surprise?
are there any halls that take credit cards as a payment?

TIA!

btw, I am happy to apart of LIF now!

Hi! Welcome! I know from experience that my hall didn't take C/C...that would have been awesome...would have gotten some points. Can you possibly take like a hundred dollars a month (that won't be missed) and pay the hall in cash? Just get a receipt for every payment.

MissJones,

this sounds like a good idea... since I have 2 years to plan.. maybe the money wont be missed?? but I sooo want to plan a wonderful over the top b-day party for him.. b/c he deserves it.
so I got married at JT, I wonder what other NICE halls they have in LI. I will have to start calling and shopping soon!

Maybe JT will offer you a better rate since you have already used them and you can say it's a 2 year anniversary dinner in order to get him there. Chat Icon

can you borrow the money from your folks and then pay for the party afterwards?

you can open your own acct and just put a little money in it each month...and if you don't want him to know about it have them either send electronic statements to your email or mail the statements to your parents house

Re: hi I'm a newbie & I already have a question

you could either do an ING acct which is good b/c its no minimums and has a high intrest rate...only thing is when you xfer money it takes a few days

or you could open an acct at any bank..like a free checking acct or low minimum savings like at commerce bank.
