Hi ,I'm new to this thread.
Hi, I am new here, I am usually on Parenting.
I have a 4 year old DD and a 6 week old DS. I need to get my butt in gear and go on a diet and start exercising.
I gained 30 lbs with this pregnancy, and have about 10 or 15 lbs to go to get back to where I was. Although, I would like to lose about 10 lbs more than that.
I have been on WW before, I follow it for a few days, and then give up, because I feel so restricted, I get soo few points. The core is not for me, because I am not a big meat eater.
As for exercise, I am not a fan. But... I know I need to do it.
So, what diet plans work for you? I was thinking of just keeping a food journal, and eating about 1500 calories and 30 fat grams a day.
As far as exercise, should I join the gym or try Pilates??? I have a treadmill and hand weights at home. Should I try The 30 Minute Shred, or is that for a more fit person.
I know I can do the diet and exercise, I did it before...about 17 years ago..in high school ... I followed a strict diet and rode my stationary bike 8 miles a day. I went from 165 lbs to 115. I would say my weight stabilized at about 125 for several years. It crept up tp about 135 from all of the stress of TTC.
I would be thrilled to get back to 125lbs.. I am 5 feet 4 1/2. I am 35, is this possible??
Any advice would really be appreciated.
Thanks, Tara

Of course it's possible. But don't just go on a diet, make it a way of life. If you eat healthy and exercise you'll feel healthy and you'll see results.
Don't buy cookies, chips, cakes, fattening snacks... if they aren't in your house you are less likely to eat them. Instead of turkey with mayo on a sub, get turkey with mustard (or vinegar) and veggies on wheat.
Cut out all soda (if you drink it) and sugary drinks. Drink mostly water. Stay away from artificial sweeteners.
Exercise is important! I find that I need some motivation to work out and i'm lucky that my DH is there to motivate me. Is your DH (or a friend, family member) willing to work out with you?
Do you watch TV at night? During the commercials do as many sit ups, squats and push ups that you can... seriously it'll help.
If you join a gym definitely take advantage of the free training session and get all the info you can from the trainer. Tell him/her what your goals are and they will tell you what parts of the body to work on and when.
