Bear in mind we are financially strapped, so no Donald Trump day care centers for us!!!
Anything really good in the Huntington area?

The least expensive but very good daycare I came across is the Northport Employee Day Care Center at the VA Hospital. I love the teachers there. I'm not sure if that's too far for you. When Joseph was kicked out (well not kicked out, on a 2 week "break" ), we switched daycares. The cost went up significantly.
Other options I looked into, but didn't go for were Calling All Kids. An old classmate of mine owns Pam's Giving Tree. For a short time I had him at Kiddiecare on 25A in Huntington.
Have you tried the Suffolk County Childcare Coucil? They'll give you a list of names in your area.
