Hi Ladies! New Here with Question
Hi Ladies! I am 7w1d with twins. Last week at 6w1d we saw 2 hbs. DH and I were ecstatic!!
My RE never mentioned the whole "vanishing twin" thing or warned me about losing one. Now I am freaking out bc I keep reading all this stuff about how common the vanishing twin is. Is it less likely once the heartbeats are seen or is there still a good chance that this could happen? I have another sono tomorrow and am just sooo full of anxiety.
I know I need to stop googling bc it is just worrying me and I really can't control what is gonna happen, but I can't help but feel so nervous.

Re: Hi Ladies! New Here with Question
Congratulations!!!!!
And stop reading things like that on the internet! DH and I made ourselves crazy with all of that. Each week got easier and once we were out of the first trimester, we felt sooooooo much better, but of course the worry is always still there. I highly recommend the book "twins, triplets and quads". It was the most helpful book i was able to find. Congratulations again

Re: Hi Ladies! New Here with Question
I have been freaking out over the same thing. No one at the RE's office mentioned that it could happen, but it happened to one of my friends. I think she said it happened around 8 or 9 weeks.
So yea, I'm freaking out too and will not let myself look anything up on it. What did yours measure? I know my friends smaller 1 is the one that vanished. On Thursday mine were 5mm and 4mm. When do you go back to the RE? Try to stay sane.

i dunno what they measured. i was 6w1d and RE said its not until 6w3 you can get good measurements, but he said both look similar in size and both heartbeats look good. I go back tomorrow morning for another appt. I will be 7w2d!

Re: Hi Ladies! New Here with Question
No real advice. Apparently I had a spontaneous twin pregnancy (meaning no fertility assistance) and no one mentioned vanishing twin.
All I can say is try not to stress, its out of your control!
