some of the residential areas are very close to main roadways/highways etc. its close and convenient, good train into the city. i have not heard the best things about the school district.

Schools are OK.
I love Hicksville. DS commutes and I love the convenience to all major parkways, LIE, etc.. Lots of store around. 15 minutes from Roosevelt Fied Mall.

my daughter attended Burns Avenue for 3 years and it was a good school. We were living with my dad, and when I got married we moved out of district so now my DD attends east meadow schools. In comparing the districts IMO Hicksville concentrated more on spelling and reading, and East Meadow concentrates more on math and science.
go to THIS SITE on Greatschools.net and it gives a lot of information regarding test scores. Also, here's the Hicksville School district site too!!
