High white blood count...
Hi girls! Had my Blood Work done in the beginning of the pregnancy and my WBC was elevated. In range was up to 10.9 and I was 12.9. Went again last month ( I'm now 28 weeks) and results Showed I'm now at 16.5 so they have gone up. Have to go back for repeat blood Work. Anyone else experience this( of course Now I'm nervous! ) I read this can happen when pregnant but I just don't want anything to be wrong :(

Re: High white blood count...
It happened to me earlier in my pregnancy. 3 x's it was elevated. But, I blamed it on allergies and a cold I couldn't fight off. They ended up referring me to hematologist to rule out leukemia and they did rule it out. But, the sent my blood work out and it came back that I tested positive for an antibody ANA (Lupus). My Obgyn and Hematologist were not concern. Basically, it doesn't necessarily mean I will automatically get Lupus, but I do carry the anti-body. After I give birth, I am going to see a Rheumatologist for additional testing. The Baby is fine.
It is likely elevated because you are pregnant. I was told by Hematologist that it is very common. I hope your repeat blood work comes back normal. I remember freaking out too!
