Highlights color....
I really want to get my hair highlighted but I've never done it before and really don't know what to ask for...
I think I want like a golden color -- not blonde at all .... kinda like a cross between honey and chestnut....don't know what that would be called?
And does anyone know if there are places that specialize in coloring curley hair? I read once that you should color it while it is dry and apply the color to chunks of curles so that it will always lay right with your curles....I don't know how necessary this is.
Here are pics of my hair curley and straight if that helps at all....in case any of you guys have suggestions....
right now my hair is very ONE-toned.

Re: Highlights color....
I have about the same color hair as you do..I do highlight mine all the time now..i do caramel colored more for the winter and i go lighter..just a little in the sumer..I would go to someone who is an experienced colorist so she could advise ou on the color choices and how it would lay with your curl...best of luck

Re: Highlights color....
My only recommendation (I have curly hair and have been getting my hair highlighted for years) is to try to use a place that PAINTS the highlights on rather than using a foiling technique. It may be a bit more expensive, but it pays off in the end. If you get them painted on it is not nearly as obvious when it grows out and you can wait much longer in-between highlighting....
just my two cents

Can you recommend a place that does this?
What is the price difference?
I don't even know how much highlights would cost to begin with..
I think I'd just do a half-head ... especially since it is the winter and it's my first time doing it...

Re: Highlights color....
I think your best bet is to go through a few magazines and rip out some pics of the highlighting you like...color ads are great for that.
I find it best to go in with pictures so there is no discrepency in what you are looking for...

I agree color wise with the ladies, carmely- golden blonde will be very natural looking. I think it will look very pretty on you. Good luck!!!!!!
