Historic House Located on Wantagh Ave near Southern State
Does anyone know the story of the Historic House Located on Wantagh Ave near Southern State in Wantagh/Levittown?
I always pass it and I was just wondering. I know noone lives there, but I do see a woman there every once in a while taking care of the property.

Do you mean the one across the street from Exxon?
If so, it was at some point a home for handicapped people. I guess its not anymore.

Do you know whats really funny...I have now lived away from LI for going on 8 years, I haven't passed that house in, oh, maybe 10 years and I just got the most amazing mental picture of that whole scene...I remember it exactly!

Same here. I'm in Seaford and in Iavorrones and Friendly's shopping center ALL of the time!!!

Same here. I'm in Seaford and in Iavorrones and Friendly's shopping center ALL of the time!!!
I live in Seaford too- and I"m always in these shopping centers too!
Regarding the house- I pass it every day on the way to work. DH thinks maybe it used to be the old farm house from when that area was a giant farm. I've never seen anyone there- but its always well manicured!

I love that house - it always looks so nice.
And I'm always in those shoppping centers too -- Jin's for Chinese, CVS, Dina Nails and WaMu across the street...Friendly's ....lol.........

I'm still confused on where this house is? Is it on the Burger King side? Is it between BK and the SS??

I dont go to Ivaronnes that much, but I do frequent Green Cactus, the Frozen yogurt store across the street in the shopping center.....and Danielle and I go to that Gap too.
The place I am mostly at is Segestas Pizza.

I live right in that area too. I have seen an elderly man working in that garden many times I dont know if that house is empty I often see cars in the driveway.

DH just called his family, who live right near there. They believe that the house was originally owned by the Seaman family. The Baptist church right there has a cemetary in the back, and most of the people buried there are members of the Seaman family.
I found this on a genology website:
