hives from a virus?
DS who is 2yo has had hives all day. It seems like they would pop up and then disappear only to reappear in new places. Some spots they are in clusters, and the others are just singles. They are in different spots all over his body. I called the ped on call and she said is body is probably fighting a virus. She suggested Benadryl if he wakes up tonight (he was already going to bed when we spoke) and to continue for the next 2-3 days. Has anyone's DC experienced this?

Re: hives from a virus?
Not a virus, but when DS was about 5 months old he got hives from stress and discomfort. He has eczema and on a very hot/humid day he had a flare up and was very itchy and miserable. He ended up breaking out in hives.
I called the PED and she said hives can be a reaction to stress. Is your DC uncomfortable? Maybe it is a similar situation?
