Hockey Related BDay Party for 5 year old?
My oldest is obsessed w/ all things Hockey - We have him in skating lessons .......but he wants a "Hockey" Birthday Party (in April)
Do you guys know of anything I can do / place I can go that would be private and hockey related?
I don't want to do a party at bethpage rink - they're out there on the ice during free skate w/ the whole world and I don't want parents to HAVE to get out on the ice w/ them at 5 years old - KWIM?
Any alternatives?

You dont want to do it at any rink? what about a roller rink instead of ice?

I feel like they're too small to be thrown out there during a free skate- If it was small or confined to just them, it would be better.
But I wouldn't be comfortable putting 25 5 year old kids out on an ice rink.....then their parents HAVE to participate, I just feel like 5 is too little for that -

Not sure where you are located, but The Rinx in Smithtown/St James has indoor dek hockey (hockey played in sneakers). My DS played hockey there about 2 yrs ago - they do birthday parties

I have been looking into bday parties for DS as well and I don't know about where you are, but NY Sports Club does parties. I was thinking a sports related party. Maybe you guys can do something with street hockey (obviously not on ice) and other sports the kids can play. You can do everything else ice hockey... paper plates and cups. cake

Sports Arena in St. James does Dek hockey parties.

Iceworks in syosset does parties, they also have the little crash carts for no skaters so parents don't have to go on the ice.
