(516) 463-6535 at Hofstra's Saltzman Center

I don't have first hand information on the program, but I worked there as part of another program several years ago.

Re: Hofstra speech service programs?
i didn't use their speech program, but i did have testing there and had a GREAT experience with them.
Dr. Kimberly Gilbert is who i was working with. DS is autistic, so it may be another dept for speech... but they were great to us

Re: Hofstra speech service programs?
Thank you for responding. I was curious if either of you know if any child can attend these programs or do you have to have a diagnosis? IEP? or IFSP?
does insurance pay for it or is it out of pocket?
are there weekend sessions?

Re: Hofstra speech service programs?
They don't deal with insurance but you can submit it to your insurance. You pay out of pocket, but it's much less $ than if you went to a private clinician.
You definitely don't need any diagnosis. The purpose of the clinics are to diagnose and treat (they'll get info from you and determine the direction to go in).
There are different clinics there depending on your needs and concerns.
ETA: They did have weekend sessions in some cases/ some programs, but I was there a while ago.
