Holbrook, Holtsville, and Ronkonkoma
So we're looking now for condo's in these areas. Our goal is to live in a condo for about 5 years to save more money for a house.
Anyway...what do you know about these areas?
We like Holbrook, but most of the condos have electric heat. Isn't that crazy expensive?
TIA!!! -Sandy

My grandparents own a townhouse in the Timber Ridge section and they have gas heat. Not sure if thats what you are looking for but they have some very nice units in there.

We lived in a condo for 8+ years with electric heat. We paid about $250 a month to LIPA. It seems high, but you have to remember that is the only real utility bill you get - no oil bill, no gas bill.
Ask a homeowner and they will say their electric + oil/gas is probably more than that.
