Holiday "New" Classics

What are some recent movies that you think will become classics down the line, movies you think your kids may watch?

I love Elf. I thought it was so funny. And Love Actually, even though it's more for adults and not little kids.

Any others?

I watched it for the first time the other night, and I couldn't stop laughing.

I loved LOVE ACTUALLY- I wept at the end. Might be one of my all time favorite movies.

I definitely think 8 crazy nights will stay popular for years. There werent that many Chanukah movies and the movie was absolutely hysterical. Thats Adam Sandler for you. I wonder if he did a new Chanukah song. I have only been listening to CDS lately.

Oh- I HATED 8 Crazy Nights. I certainly hope it doesn't become a classic. It was almost as bad as Punch Drunk Love.

Elf and Love Actually are two of my faves also- I think Elf may be classic. Love ACtually will be more of a romantic classic- Like 4 Weddings and a Funeral.

It's more a romantic comedy, but its set during the holidays, in London. It's really gorgeous!

Re: Holiday "New" Classics

I can't really think of anything..

but I really didn't like 8 crazy nights at all. i love the idea of a hanukkah movie, but it didn't thrill me. it was too gross and too out there even for me.

They need to make a good hanukkah movie. PBS had children's hanukkah stories on the other day and they were all depressing and nothing I'd want to run out and buy for my kids.

One holiday movie that isn't well known (nor is it new, it's 20 years old now) was a made for TV movie called "The Night They Saved Christmas" I've beenw atching it since I was a kid and i loved it. Jaclyn Smith is in it, Art Carney is Santa, June Lockhart is Mrs. Claus, and Paul Williams is his cheif elf. There are a lot of other famous names in it. I've just always loved it. has anyone else seen this movie?
