Holiday tipping if DC takes a class?

Dd takes a gymnastics class so I wanted to give her two "coaches" something for the holiday - they are girls in their late teens early twenties

1st- do you tip the coaches ect?

2nd - what or how much - is 20 or 25 enough? does giving them cash in a card look tacky? If you dont give cash, what do you give?

TIA

I think cash in a card is tacky, but then again I don't tip. I buy gifts for the coaches, teachers, etc.

Then what gifts do you buy them?

I've done all kinds of things. Ornaments, edible stuff, Philosophy brand stuff, Vera Bradley mini wallets, fleece blankets, etc.

To answer your other question, for me $20-$25 is a lot. My kids are involved in a lot of different things though, and have a lot of teachers, etc. to buy for, so that would add to be too much. I spend $10 max. Usually around $5, but I hunt clearance and sales for good things that don't cost much.

I didn't even think about tipping DD's gymboree teachers, I don't think I will.

I think it's very nice of you to get them something, I think a $5 Starbucks or DD gift card would be perfect!

I was actually wondering if people do this for Gymboree and I meant to post the question but I forgot about it!
