Holy SHMOLY - isn't it too early for him to be so "testy"
I feel like Cailen is just really testing me right now and seeing what I'm going to react to.... I thought this was more like 18-24 mt behavior, but maybe since thats his clothing size right now, he is stepping up to the plate...
I find I no longer use my cutesy "no no no" voice, but found some horrific, demonic "NO" somewhere in my reportoir that I never knew I had. I can't even imagine what my face must look like
Is anyone else going through this with a child under 1???? Or did I spawn some demon child with the same genetic material that my guttural, awful "No" voice came from????

Your not alone, Noah is " spirted" As I like to think of it as well...
He is very emotional and I am totally shocked at him only being 8 and 1/2 months old many times a day

I think it's natural, especially has it gets easier for them to explore their worlds.

Oh yes Jayden has quite the personality. His tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants or when you tell him no are getting worse - fists fly, he gets stiff and then drops himself.
He and Nate fight all the time for toys..... Usually Jayden will want some thing Nate has and just grab it. Then when Nate reaches out to take it back, Jayden will put it behind his back or throw it in the opposite direction. I just can't wait until Jayden is really walking and talking, their fighting will be real interesting.

Re: Holy SHMOLY - isn't it too early for him to be so "testy"
EJ (8 months today!!!!) is testing me for the past week while diaper changing. There is a snap on the top of the changing table of the PNP and he MUST swirl to touch it at least 10-15 times per diaper. I have never practice so much "NO" in my life. And that's just the beginning. Oh.... and there is I am going to touch my tiger attachment toy on the tray of the highchair while eating.
Of course, I know when it's coming most of the time. He looks at me first. Smiles (like flirting smile!), then do it. Looks at me again when I say NO. Do it again while smiling. Then I do my "angry eyes" and he stops. More smile!
I am in so much trouble!

We are going thru this too. Troy apparently does not have the word No in his vocabulary. He does not seem to understand it! And if I tap his hand while saying it, he kisses his own hand!

Cailen used to give me that heads up too by shaking his head "no" and smiling. I think he realized that mommy figured that one out, so he stopped doing it!!!

Jacob is 15 months but before he turned 1, I was already saying "no" and wondering if its possible for the terrible twos 1 year early

Oh yes. G has a new habit...hitting. He thinks it is hysterical. I can only guess where he learned that from. He cold-clocked me in the nose last night and my reaction was un-earthly.

Liza...I actually laughed out loud reading this post. Probaby because I could have written it myself. Gone are the days of gently saying "no honey". Replaced by a "Taylor, No" that gets louder each time she defies my plea to stop eating the electrical cord to the floor lamp or tries to turn over on the changing table while I am feverishly trying to button or snap her clothes. I definitely think she believes she is the boss of everyone.....
