Re: home insurance?
We went with Liberty Mutual. Here's a tip too, if you can get a rate with them on auto, switch your cars over to them and you get a lower rate on the Home owners..I don't recall how much it is..I can check later and let you know.

Re: home insurance?
We use The Hartford for our home and car insurance. Our homeowners ins. is $1200 per year.
We got some ridiculous quotes before we decided on the one we went with (some places wanted upwards of $4,000!! )

Re: home insurance?
FH and I just got quoted from State Farm for like 1500 a month...to me that is too much. What is standard things that you get on a h.i. policy? The agent said he put computer insurance and chimney insurance. I really don't need all that stuff, do I? Sorry for all the questions, we just have no idea about this stuff! Also, how much do we insure the house for?

yeah i guess they aren't anymore it's pretty terrible now with these companies and writing new policies and the hurricane issue. i mean do they know something we dont' know about them, we never had problems with hurricanes before.

i'm not sure about all those other coverages, i think it's a matter of preference in what u want covered but usually they can tell you what to insure the house on, they base it on what it would cost to rebuild just the house alone, usually they use comparables in your area to determine house and land value and then you insure your house for about half of that amount.
