I feel the same way, but I look at it this way- a lot of times in the home invasions you hear about- someone is targeted specifically for one reason or another.
The last one I heard about someone came to the door asking for someone specific- he was targeted for some reason.
I still lock my doors, my bedroom door, and sleep with cell phone though! And I have an escapte route planned!

Yes, you need to lock your doors all the time.
My gf is obsessed with the baby storks that someone will come steal your baby but she could not understand why we would all lock our doors while we were home!!!
