Home made Organic baby food
Ive been thinking alot about making my daughter's food, but id love your advice on the topic. What is the difference of store bought and organic? Also, which is cheaper?

Re: Home made Organic baby food
I make a lot of babyfood, but wind up mixing my own veggies with stage 2 foods, because my son loves anything with tomato sauce and pasta. I think that store bought is alot more expensive. What I do is make up lots of cubes of veggies, so I do carrots, potato and pea puree mix, parsnips, leeks, pastina cubes, a zucchini & tomato sauce mix, and a broccoli, cauliflower, pea & cheese sauce mixture.
But once I gave the kid a spaghetti bolognaise in a jar, he was hooked! So now I mix a cube of potate & peas puree into his food to give it more texture and veggies and he loves it. So its 50/50. The easiest thing to do is to steam a load of veggies all in one go, freeze them in ice cube trays, pop them out into zip locks once they are frozen, and bobs your uncle...you gots homemade baby food!

Re: Home made Organic baby food
the cheapest Ive found earths best (organic) is 69 cents a jar...you can often find the "buy 10 get $1.00 off" coupons around. Last time I was in COSTCO they had cases of the earths best stage 2 foods for sale.
I would recomend the super baby food book BOOK I used it as a guide...
I made up most of my sons food...i liked doing it...
Now I cut up and freeze fruits and veggies before they go bad...he is 18 months and loves his frozen strawberries, grapes, cherries, blueberries, peppers, mango, avacado, etc...

Re: Home made Organic baby food
I made 80% of Molly's food and used lots of organic food. It was SOO easy and she actually ate my food and hated most jar foods. Super Baby Food book is a great resource.
