We are looking into getting an alarm.

Could you please tell me:

What company you use?
Is it tied to an oil contract?
How long is your commitment in your contract?
How much are you paying a month?
What does that include??
Are you satisfied?

We use Slomins.
It is not tied into a oil contract.
We pay 81 with tax every 3 months.
I believe we had a 2 year contract?? Not positive on that though.
We had to pay for an extra door and a keypad upstairs everything else was included.

We use VMS Security. Local independantly owned company who works with a large company that handles the monitoring. He's been in business for I think 20+ years. We liked that he was invested in seeing his company succeed rather than an installer contracted by a large national company. We pay $78.05 for 3 months (that includes taxes). We use Slomins not with oil.
We can drop them anytime.
I don't handle the bill but they've always called when we set the alarm off so we're happy.

we use Brinks, though they're changing names.

We pay about $30+tax/month.
I *think* its a 2-3 year contract, which could "move" with us if we move or be transferred to the new homeowner here.

We paid ~$100-150 or so for the initial equipment/installation. We have 2 keypads, 2 keyfobs, 3 (wireless) doors and a motion detector.
