Homemade baby blankets
When my DD was born, she received a ridiculous amount of homemade blankets. That was in addition to all of the receiving blankets, fleece blankets, thermal blankets etc... she received. We only ended up really using 1 or 2 of them and that was occasionally since we used swaddles and sleep sacks. Now I'm due with #2 (a boy!) soon and my MIL mentioned that she made him a bunch of boy blankets. What the heck do I do with all of these blankets? I feel bad giving them away because people made them for my kids but I also feel bad storing them in the attic.... There are just soooo many of them!

Homemade baby blankets
I would keep everything homemade and ditch the rest. You never know if your child would want something like that in the future. I used them in my newborn shoot and on the floor for DS to play on. I just can't get rid of those, but I see how they could be overwhelming!

Re: Homemade baby blankets
I love the homemade blankets bc they are knit and I feel they are breathable. I feel safer leaving DD in her crib (she's 2) with a knit blanket, bc even if she covers her face, the holes help the air to circulate. I use 2 for her crib ( alternate), have a few in the toy chest for playing/cuddling and a few tucked away. The receiving blankets I basically stopped using once we no longer swaddled.
