Homemade Vs. Store bought
I have seen many people suggest homemade food items as gifts. If someone you didn't know that well was giving you a gift would you prefer it was homemade or store bought?
I would prefer store bought. I don't like to eat food from homes of people I do not know. If a neighbor or a friend baked something I would eat that I am just a bit weird when it comes to food from aquintances or cookies sent into the office.
This has been passed on to me by parents, they have made me a neurotic mess at pot luck dinners. Are we a bit nutty or do you feel the same?

Re: Homemade Vs. Store bought
For me, anything homemade is better but homemade from family and friends.
Like last nite, I made rocky road and its awesome and I would hope people would like it and enjoy it!!

Re: Homemade Vs. Store bought
it depends on what and who.
what it is. who made it.
a cookie I don't mind too much if it's store bought. most people can't bake worth a damn.
but food...no..like pasta..sauce and stuff. HOMEMADE>
I ABHOR those food kits they sell. but I am a from scratch kind of person.
If I was giving a food gift, I would most likely make it myself, unless it was something I cannot make...like biscotti or pannetone or bread.
but anything else, if I can't make it (and make it well) I won't give it to you.

Re: Homemade Vs. Store bought
While I prefer the IDEA of homemade over store bought, I generally don't eat homemade gifts unless they're from someone I know very well.
