When calling around for quotes on HO ins what kind of information about the house do you need?
Also, do you get this before you close?

when i called, they wanted the address, the type of house it was, the square footage, oil/gas, etc. How many bedrooms, if it has an alarm.
And yes you need to do this before closing because the bank will not approve the mortgage without insurance in place. And most of the time you need to pay a year of insurance up front.

one company i got an estimate from asked me about the proximity to the fire station. I was also asked about a fireplace, pets, # bedrooms and baths.
