I feel like every aspect of my personal life has been scrutinized. My upbringing, my financials, my hobbies, interests...they should ask people all of these things before being allowed to reproduce.

Congratulations! The homestudy was one of the most stressful parts of the adoption for us. I was always afraid they weren't going to like me or my house was too dirty lol. Good luck on the next step!!

Thanks everyone. I felt like I was hit by a truck.
Even my earnings which are above average apparently  were questioned. Damn woman I gave you pay stubs, I ain't making this shit up.
And husband was even more annoyed.
I hope this goes smoothly.

I totally understand and we felt the same way. it feels like such an invasion of privacy. but at the same time, you know its for a good reason....its tough to deal with!
Even before we started the whole adoption process.... i work in a school. And to see the way some people are raising their biological kids... I would always say that EVERY parent should have to go through a homestudy before bring kids into the picture.
haha if it makes you feel better, we adopted from Korea. so we had even more "stuff" to do! like getting fingerprinted not just but the state of NJ, but also by US Immigration and just tons of other draining stuff.
I promise though, once your child is with you... you'll forget all about it! And probably even think about getting on the crazy roller coaster again! (like we are...haha)

DH actually got angry at her about how strong her opinions were. She said she was there to give us information but he felt a bit threatened.
Now I hope she gives us a good report!
