Homophone Lesson Ideas
Ok, so I decided to do a homophone lesson with a second grade class for my ATS-P Video.
As the activity, I originally thought I would make a pear tree(place it on the board) and have them write on pear cut-outs actual "Pairs" of words with a partner.
Blue/Blew etc.
Then I started thinking that may be too hard.
Is there something easier I can do? Maybe matching pictures???
I don't want this lesson to flop on tape, but I don't want it to be too easy either because I need to show that I am going around helping students.
I also had another idea "Is your homophone ringing?"--doing something on a phone cut-out.
I think the more fun they have, the better the lesson will be on tape.
Any suggestions???
Thanks

Re: Homophone Lesson Ideas
I actually just read about a lesson on homophones. You use index cards and post it notes. Make pairs of words such as "pair" and "pear" on the index cards and then tape them to the board. Cover the words with post it notes that are numbered so that students can call out which numbers they want. They play concentration and try to find the matching pairs. It seems fun and easy.
