horrible insurance...anyone else with high deductible and out of pocket?
can I look into a supplemental insurance to pick some of this up?
750.00 deductible per year, per person
20% due on everything after that
2K out of pocket limit, not including the 750.00 deductible.
so, I have to pay 2,750 before full coverage kicks in.
is this ordinary?
my parents are in a union, so this is insane to them, they never even pay a copay.
here's another kicker.
one of the drs in the hospital doesn't take BCBS?????????? so I have to pay the entire bill...shouldn't that go towards my out of pocket?

DH's and mine is ...
$1000 deductible
we pay also 20% after that
and at the docs we have a $15 co pay
my kids ...
$199 each a month so $400 for both but they dont have a co pay

You and I must have the same BCBS because that is exactly what my insurance is!!!  I have been on the phone with them all day today trying to figure out how to make this more affordable....

Well be happy you don't have my insurance then, b/c our out of pocket max is $4500 DH's company barely pays only have of the premium too. Throw in the fact that I'm constantly on the phone with them b/c they process EVERY explanation of benefits incorrectly.
Ex- I had 7 explanation of benefits show up last week for pediatric well visits since december....all processed as out of network showing I owe 40%, when our ped is very much in network. Brainiacs.

I'm not sure, but I don't know if you can get supplemental insurance after the fact (i.e. Josh's hospitaliztions)
BUT I would fight that doctor TOOTH AND NAIL who doesn't take BCBS!! You were in the friggen hospital, you didn't have a choice to get out your book and ask if the guy took your INSURANCE...
I am sorry for the caps, I really freakin HATE health insurance in this country

my ded is 1,220 F( for when I was in the hospital having dd)
and she has a seperate ded 1,200 also. Its so crazy

yeah, josh's dr bills have me down, but my next baby is also going to cost me close to 3K for delivery.
I feel like I am always on the phone with BCBS.
we pay 350 a month for insurance...leo's next promotion, they will start covering the 350 thank God.

they got me on that when I had josh. he had all seperate bills coming in from hosp peds and tests...all towards his own deductible.
1200!!!! 
I swear LEo doesn't even make a lot. Total working poor. His sister on medicaid doesn't work and has never seen a hospital bill....and she is ****** that they want to charge her 300 for a circumsion since it is deemed cosmetic

I found out today that our fam max is 4K, which means I should have had a baby this year.

I guess I should be lucky with our BCBS - we pay $300/month and $1300 deductable
The OB that assisted in my 2nd c/s wasn't on my plan and they billed me $1500. I called them and his office said it was just a formality to bill and be rejected from the insurance, she said the next time they submit, they settle on a price...maybe the one doctor will resubmit too?

We have a 900$ deductible.. which sucks!! By the time we reach that its the end of the year and we have to pay all over again.
FH used to have BCBS through his old union job and it was great, I feel like all we had to pay was 15 dollar copays and that was it. We have UHC now.. I cant wait to figure something else out

Yes, it is our family max. We have Health Net PPO. I hate them
