Hospital and OB/Gyn recs please
I need to find an OB/Gyn. I don't want the factory feel, looking for more personal. I think I'm looking for someone affiliated with Stony Brook, but not sure yet.
Share your pros and cons with Suffolk County hospitals/OB/GYNs please.
Tia!!

Hospital and OB/Gyn recs please
I wouldn't recommend my OB mostly bc he's a MFM so unless you're high risk, you can't see him. Also it's a definite factory. If I didn't like the specific dr, I would have looked elsewhere.
Delivered both kids at stonybrook and was very happy.

Thank you. I have heard good things about Dr Welischar. Stony Brook Obgyn and Three Village Woman's are 2 I'm considering.

Thank you. I have heard good things about Dr Welischar. Stony Brook Obgyn and Three Village Woman's are 2 I'm considering.
First off, I highly recommend Stony brook. Dd2 had serious issues at birth (very unexpectedly) and they were amazing. Dr. Welischar delivered her and was really wonderful. I can't say enough good things about my experience.
That said, I go to three village and really like them. They have a few doctors that deliver but it never felt like a factory type place. The Patchogue office is smaller and had a more personal feel. If you deliver on a night or weekend the share coverage with sb obgyn and Dr. Reevis which is why the other doctor did my delivery. I've always heard good things about Reevis and he actually delivered my first but I barely saw him. Things went smoothly so it was fine.

Agreed! But don't bother with porte unless you're the very first appointment or you'll be there waiting for 6 years.

Hospital and OB/Gyn recs please
I had a good experience with OKeefe. Used to like Welischar, until she delivered my son. HORRIBLE experience. I will NEVER EVER let her touch me again. I think I have PTSD from it, I can't think about it without getting upset. I also had complications from the epidural at Stony Brook and they wouldn't admit it... anesthesiologists wouldn't help me, though the nurses all thought I had a spinal headache, if they admitted it, they would have to pay for the procedure to fix it. Ended up in the ER two or three days after going home with very high BP from the worst headache of my life, which had lasted since day two of my DSs life. They wouldn't help me again, and gave me a drug that isn't compatible with breastfeeding. I had to pump and dump for days and lost my supply... truly devastating when I was really set on breastfeeding. I also suffered with debilitating headaches for the first month of his life... Stony Brook was a terrible experience this time. First time was fine.

I heard good things about them too and originally made my first appt. with them. I ended up canceling and going with Stony Brook Midwives and I love them--so happy I chose them. I use the Bohemia office.

Re: Hospital and OB/Gyn recs please
I was very happy with Huntington Hospital. It is pretty small and has that personal feeling, yet I felt very well taken care of. I see Dr. Kramer and am happy with him.
My SIL was at Stony Brook and was happy there too. They have private rooms. Huntington does not guarantee it, but I did get a private room a few nights there last time.

Well, I went for my first Obgyn apmnt at three village and they were great. I'm glad I chose them.
We are 9 weeks pregnant !!!!!!! I can't even believe this!!! Started 5 yrs ago, 8 IUI, 3 IVF, told our only hope was donor eggs, stopped trying about 2 yrs ago...and here we are. As soon as I took that hpt I called rsofny and they saw me for the first 3 weeks and released me last week.
