Hospital bag

How big is your bag? I had a regular size carry on (with wheels) and my Mom said I was nuts!

Also, when will you have yours ready?

Re: Hospital bag

With Caiden I just used a duffel bag, which I never did finish packing before he was born! Chat Icon Chat Icon But I was really bad with it since I didn't even start packing it until I was 38-39 weeks PG. He was born at 39w3d.

I'll probably start packing this one earlier... I hope!!! I was trying to pack my bag last time during full blown labor and just said screw it to my DH you can come home and get my stuff! Chat Icon

I'm hoping to have it packed by 38 weeks. I know, I wait too long!

Re: Hospital bag

I went back to a small bag, but then when I put the camera and video camera in it, it got a little crowded.

mine's a large duffel bag. It's not filled, but it would have been stuffed if I put it in a smaller bag.

I used on of those smaller wheely ones. I may use a bigger one this time because I plan on bringing more stuff this time. Like my own pillow and a boppyChat Icon

I am using a small suitcase, the size of one you can carry on and a large tote bag. I am an overpacker where ever I go!

I packed mine at 35 weeks, after I learned I was 1cm dialated!
I will just have a few things to throw in when the day comes.

Re: Hospital bag

Mine was a duffel bag. First baby (at 34 weeks), I didn't pack a bag because I thought I was just swinging by the hospital to get evaluated. I grabbed a pair of sweats.

Second baby, I packed it earlier (34 weeks) & DH finished putting the rest in while I was laboring at home.

I was not allowed a video camera. just a regular camera and that could only be used when the dr ok'd it.

Edited for spelling!!

Re: Hospital bag

I say take enough for 4 days...just in case you end up with a C-Section.

When I had my 1st, because it was early and unexpected my bag was pack after the fact by DH....and even though I told him what to bring up to the hospital he only half got it right. so the point is, if you pack it, you know that you will have the things that you want and need.

I have a nice sized bag that's carry-on size. Even if I unexpectedly have to have a c, there is plenty of room for quite a few days' worth of stuff.

Re: Hospital bag

I'm just using a duffel bag. Next week I am going to pack everything in, I'll be 36 1/2 weeks then. I waited too long with Melanie and was caught off guard when I went to the hospital. I had to have DH pack it and trust me ladies, it was pretty bad.

Re: Hospital bag

I brought a large duffel bag. I could barely fit everything inside.
