Re: Hospital Bag? HELP!

Im not going to bring a diaper bag....they should provide diapers, formula etc.....I would bring your own pads, snacks, water bottle, slippers, flipflops for the shower, chapstick (one of my books said your lips can get really dry during labor)

Re: Hospital Bag? HELP!

I found that I brought WAY too much stuff. The only thing you need for the baby is the going home outfit. The hospital will provide the rest.

As for you...some comfy PJs, in my case...sweats/tshirts, robe, slippers, and personal hygiene stuff.

Re: Hospital Bag? HELP!

This is what I brought and used.

3 pairs of Pjs (I really only used 2 pairs but I left a day early)
1 outfit with nursing top
1 outfit to come home from hospital in
magazines (used when I couldnt sleep)
cell phone
camera
money (Dh never has cash on him so it was helpful for him to go to cafeteria for coffee or somethign to eat)
granny panties (the bigger the better esp if you have a section as I did, you dont want anything sitting on your incision)
slippers
socks
shampoo
conditioner
deoderant
toothpaste
hairbrush
hair ties
tooth brush
chapstick

For the baby the only thing you will need is the coming home outfit, I had DH bring this the day we left the hospital.

Re: Hospital Bag? HELP!

If you can, split your stuff into two bags. Have one that is ready for the run to the hospital at first. You have to cart it around, so pack your labor necessities.
Have DH bring the other stuff the next day when he comes like shampoo, soap, etc when you are allowed to shower.

Also, bring your own pillow (with a colored pillowcase). The hospital ones are sucky and you always need an extra Chat Icon

Re: Hospital Bag? HELP!

I also heard to bring an empty bag with you to take all the samples from the hospital (diapers, formula, etc.)

Re: Hospital Bag? HELP!

Don't bring a diaper bag! you won't need it. just bring the babies outfit that you plan on taking him/her home in.

Make sure you bring a robe or something to cover you up if need be

bring socks and slippers and bring TOWELS! the hospital towels stink.

At our hospital, they provided everything for the baby...the only thing we needed were a take home outfit and car seat.

Also, they provided pads and socks (with the grips at the bottom). I brought my own pjs, robe, slippers and essential toiletrees (shampoo, deodrant, toothbrush, etc)
