I did it at 34 weeks at Winthrop and YES it was a complete waste of my time. I did not do it through a class and I feel they got to see me than just going to the "regular" tour.
You see the front desk and 1 delivery room. Oh yes, and the hallway to the nursery and the hallway to the OR if you have c-section.
OK, I did get a bag for wasting my time that day.
I did go to the orientation though and that was very helpful.

Re: Hospital Tour
I am doing mine this Saturday. I will be 35 weeks. My friend delivered at the same hospital I will be and she said the tour was very helpful. She knew where she had to go (entrance and parking), who would be at the desk (volunteer or nurse), and what the SOP would be. She got to see the rooms, the delivery room, the nursery and where everything is located.
She said when her water broke and she was at the hospital she knew exactly where to go and what to expect. It really helped her because when her water broke she really wasnt thinking clearly.
I am looking forward to my tour.

Re: Hospital Tour
I am doing it at 33 weeks. My hospital only does one a month, and if I wait until the next one, I will be 37 weeks, and that will be too close to my due date for my liking. I have already done the hospital tour and have given birth to my 2 DC's at the same hospital, but I want to pre-register and see the new rooms that they have added.

We just switched hospitals (from Winthrop to South Nassau) and hearing the presenter-nurse speak, and being on the tour really sealed the deal for us, We feel so comfortable with our choice.

Re: Hospital Tour
We went at 29 weeks. The hospital tour is the part my husband wanted to do, nevermind the childbirth class. BUT the class did help him (and me) with some questions we had, so it was worth it for us.

Re: Hospital Tour
We are going on our hospital tour this Saturday, at which point I will be almost 27 weeks. We figured it couldn't hurt to take the tour in advance of my going on bed rest.
