That is a bummer! I love that diaper bag, I still use it all the time. It's a very convenient size for quick trips to the store.

Re: Hospitals ban freebies/samples
Thats just BS!!! I know that BF is best for baby, but for me I was just not comfortable with BF'ing. In the hospital the nurse who brought me my son initially made me feel terrible for not BF'ing. The free diaper bag had nothing to do with my decision, that just pure stupidity.

I agree, though I had planned on BFing as long as we both could and did for a couple months getting a free can of formula and a diaper bag wouldn't make say "oh that Similac company is sooooooo nice I think I will formula feed my baby!"
As a new mom I welcomed all the freebies I could get! Whats more, when we did wean to formula I used Nestle Good Start and I didn't get any freebies from them!

Well, some hospitals (by me) have stopped giving out free samples due to one of the companies saying it was unfair that the other was giving out free samples and such. Was it Enfamil that gave out the black diaper bag? If so then it was Similac that gave my hospital a really hard time about it....
Donna- Nestle gives out the first 6 months in formula free, usually. They send checks to cover the cost of the formula.

I actually could not pull up the article using the link that was given. In case anybody else is having trouble, you can try using this. http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/nation/wire/sns-ap-free-formula,0,7627992.story
p/s - I think it stinks that they are doing this in MA. I hope they don't start this nonsense in NY.
