Hosting a Baby Shower for someone who doesn't love attention.. games?
Hi all!
So I'm helping to host a baby shower for someone who doesn't love the spotlight on her. She doesn't want a whole thing with everyone watching while the presents are opened (so no bingo) and prefers to be out of the "spotlight" the most possible. Does anyone have any cute games that we can play that will keep it fun but also not put too much attention on her? I want her to have fun and obviously be celebrated but not uncomfortable. :) Thanks ladies!

This site had some good game ideas:
Link.
I like the don't say baby game.
We did the Diaper notes, Price is Right and Block decorating at my shower. The diaper notes were cute- it was funny seeing them pop up from time to time while changing DD. Not many people did the blocks, so I might skip that. I like the alphabet pages to color/draw. You could always laminate them and make an ABC book for the baby!

For my sister's we did block decorating and making headbands for the baby. I also did cute little gift bags with a letter on each arranged to spell BABY SHOWER or something like that. I hid a baby item starting with the letter inside each bag and people had to guess the items. Everyone seemed to really have fun with that.

everyone can decorate a onesie. bring some fabric paint in the squeezable jars and then they can hang on clothesline to dry-you got decorations and she has keepsakes now that baby can use. win-win.

The Left Right Baby Shower game. You get a bottle of wine or champagne for each table and read this story or one something like this (there's a lot of different ones on pinterest and google- I'm just sending this one as an example) http://www.ebabyshowergames.com/wp-content/uploads/left_right_baby_game.pdf
It's always a hit at the showers I have been to and there's no spotlight on your friend.
I was just at a baby shower that gave us a card with the letters A-Z on it and they wanted us to fill in baby names for each letter. They timed it to make it a game
They also did celebrity baby name match game.

This is what we did for my baby shower. Guests decorated onesies and bibs. Everyone loved personalizing items for the baby and I loved putting DD in the onesies and using the bibs that family and friends made for her.

I would just skip them. I also hate attention and the only request I made for my bridal shower was no games.
I didn't even have a baby shower, mainly because I didn't want the attention!

My sister is the same way. We gave the guests a ball of play doh and had them make a "baby" from it. We gave out prizes for the most anatomically correct, the best, the worst etc. everyone had fun with it and they didn't pay as much attention to my sister as she was opening the gifts.

Skip them. They really aren't necessary.

That sounds like me lol. At my shower we only did the bingo game when I was opening gifts because I know people like to win prizes

I agree that games really aren't necessary. I didn't have games at my bridal shower or either of my baby showers. My SIL did have games. One game that was pretty cute was everyone was handed a paper with some well known baby products ie: A&D diaper rash cream Pampers newborn 144 count diapers diaper gene and the attendants had to guess their current price tag. Anyone who got one right (or the closest) got a prize.

I like these. The play doh thing a pp mentioned sounds fun too. I like the don't say baby game. Also, my water broke - you freeze plastic babies in ice cubes and whoever gets baby out first wins. I like the candy smooshed in diaper game and you have to guess which candy in each diaper.
Some people really like the games and have fun The guests who don't like them just opt out of playing. It will take some of the spotlight off your friend.
