Re: Hot Flashes/Night Sweats
I was doing some research on evening primrose oil for something else and it is said to help with that as well. Maybe give that a try?

Re: Hot Flashes/Night Sweats
I get them as long term side effects from chemo. Here's what works for me when sleeping -
Short sleeves or tank. MUST be a V-neck.
I never ever wear pajama pants in bed. No socks, either.
Pull hair back into a low loose ponytail.
Soft cotton sheets and pillowcases...anything that feels remotely silky gets real hot, real fast.
Sleep with only a top sheet, no blanket. Keep a fan on in the room. If you flash during the night, putting your feet on something cool helps (hardwood/tile floors) and sometimes just reaching your hand up and touching the wall with the front and back of your palm helps too (walls are usually cool)
I can't recommend any products; I'm not allowed to take anything to control them. I just learned to deal with it and it does get better in time!

Re: Hot Flashes/Night Sweats
Also, is your mattress hot? I feel like since we got a new mattress it just holds and radiates so much heat. It has this cover on it that feels so soft and lovely but I feel like it traps heat.
I am always freezing but some nights I wake up in a sweat and feel like the mattress is just radiating heat like an electric blanket.
I hear they have these cooling mattress pads that help with it- some kind of gel maybe?
The only time I had night sweats was right after my DD was born from all the fluctuating hormones. It was awful. I would wake up SOAKED.
