Hotel Recs in AC
I've only been to AC once, but it was company paid for! DH and I are going to see Elton John in AC in July, and really don't want to drive home afterwards, but will if we have to (we live in NJ, but it's still a 2 1/2 hour drive). I cannot seem to find anything under $350/night and we do not want to pay that much. I know that parts of AC are not good, so I'm kind of weary about looking for anything that isn't on the boardwalk.
Does anyone have any recs on where we can stay that's not going to cost a ton of $$?
TIA!

Re: Hotel Recs in AC
if you want to stay in AC-try for the trop or any of the places u have a card for-they might have a discounted rate
if you dont want to stay IN AC-u can try for a holiday inn or comfort inn rite around there-5 miles away... n wayyyyyyy cheaper! n they arent shady

Re: Hotel Recs in AC
Thanks.. the Tropicana was $395 for that date! We don't ever go to AC so we don't have cards for any of the hotels. I'll check into those other places, thanks again!

Re: Hotel Recs in AC
Check the Sheraton AC Convention Hotel - their site & at Orbitz. I have gotten better rates then the casino hotels. It is about 4 blocks from the boardwalk & have a shuttle to the boardwalk if you don't want to walk or drive. It's a safe walk past the outlet mall there.
If you want to go off the boardwalk there are a string of chain hotels in West Atlantic City along Black Horse Pike such as:
Best Western Atlantic City West Extended Stay & Suites
Quality Hotel Bayside Resort
Clarion Hotel And Convention Center
I have stayed at all three and they are nice clean hotels in a safe area.

We usually stay at the Tropicana, but I see it is pricey for the date you want. The very first time we went, we stayed at one of the Days Inn about a mile or two from the boardwalk and it was really cheap. Have fun!

Re: Hotel Recs in AC
Thanks everyone for the suggestions, even the cheaper hotels are $$ for when we are going. We're just going to drive home after the concert.

I agree...Did you check their prices yet?
I always stay there and it's a nice, clean hotel thats walking distance from the boardwalk. Usually they have good prices.
I would check it out before deciding to drive home. Stay the night and relax!

No availability for that night! Seems to bea popular weekend in AC! We'd stay somewhere along the Jersey Shore, but in the summer most places require a 2 night stay which we can't do. I live in Northern Jersey, so it's really not that big of a deal.
