Re: Hotel Rwanda
An excellent movie but really sad. It's a real shame that the US wasn't allowed to help protect them.
The worst scene in the movie was when Paul and another guy were in a truck taking a "short cut" on a bumpy road. When the camera panned to show that the bumpy road was all the murdered people, I was like this

Re: Hotel Rwanda
It was a hard film to watch. It's a shame that wasn't more prevalent in the news at the time.

Re: Hotel Rwanda
the worst part for me was when the English woman who was went back for the children at hte orphanage said how they made her watch them kill all of the children and the onw girl cried to her "please dont let them kill me i promise i wont be a tutsi anymore" that broke my heart.
on hte dvd you can also watch a short special with the real family.

I'm not sure honestly, if I buy that the US wasn't "allowed" to help them, or if we just chose not to. That's what I found so disturbing. That and the fact that the UN came in just to get the white people out. It was so F**Ked up!

Re: Hotel Rwanda
That was an amazing movie. Did you watch any of the extras on the DVD? They had a bio on the real man and he is such an amazing person. It is so sad what people do to one another in this world.

Re: Hotel Rwanda
I found this movie deeply disturbing but I thought it was an excellent film.
What I found the most disturbing however, is how other countires chose to look the other way while it was happening.

I totally agree. I found that more disturbing than anything. So that apparently many of the people sought refuge in The Congo. The fighting continues like this in the Congo. Did anybody see that episode of Oprah, with Lisa Ling? She went there and interviewed people. So sad. It's a genocide, and NOTHING is being done to stop it.
