Hotels and a really good restaurant near the theatre district in NYC
For our 2nd Anniversary I am thinking of surprising Phil with a trip into the city to see a play, eat at a really good restaurant and stay overnight in a hotel.
Problem is, I have no idea about the city, can some recommend a hotel and restaurant with amazing food near the theatre district?
I am really clueless when it comes to the city.

Re: Hotels and a really good restaurant near the theatre district in NYC
I used to run conferences in the city - my favorite hotel in the theatre district was always the Marriott Marquis. They also have a great restaurant / lounge on the 44th floor (The View) that rotates around so you can see the whole city. I have only had drinks in the lounge, so I can't vouch for the food in the restaurant, but the atmosphere/view are incredible. The rest of the hotel has good food, so I'm assuming their food is great as well.

Re: Hotels and a really good restaurant near the theatre district in NYC
I've been doing a few hotel and theater packages for clients. I have been putting them in this hotel and they have all raved about it:
The Novotel New York 226 West 52nd Street on Broadway
This hotel is located in the heart of the theatre district and walking distance to all Broadway shows.
Amenities: Cable TV, in-room safe, iron and board, hair dryer, in-room movies and OnCommand Web TV, minibar, voice mail, radio alarm clock.
Facilities: Cafe Nicole restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner overlooking Broadway, Room Service 6 am to 12 midnight, Broadway Bar and Terrace, same day dry cleaning service, exercise room 24/7, self-service business center 24/7, Gift Shop.

I've only stayed at the Marriot Marquis. We liked it, but of course it was pricey.
One of our favorite restaurants is Cascina on 9th at 45th. It's really old world style italian. Delicious!

I love Rachel's on 9th between 43rd and 44th. Cozy with great food and not crazy overpriced.
Le Madeline on 42nd or 43rd near 9th. They have a nice indoor garden and great food.
The W is a nice hotel.

I recommend Cite Grill-right next to Radio City. They have a prix fixe dinner for 69 pp and it has unlimited wine-the food is very good and it is a nice place

Re: Hotels and a really good restaurant near the theatre district in NYC
I work right in the heart of the theater district. The W hotel is supposed to be great. I also had a friend stay at the Novotel and loved it! Marriot Marquis is nice, but very touristy.
As for restaurants, Blue Fin in the W hotel is great, there is also Barbetta, if you want old school dining and dancing. there are realy so many restaurants here. Go to citysearch.com and check otu the area. You can figure otu what would be good for you.
