Hotels in Aruba
Can anyone recommend hotels/resorts in Aruba? Preferably not all-inclusive.
TIA!

Re: Hotels in Aruba
Depends on what you are looking for:
There are high rises or low rises (large amount of people versus smaller places)

Re: Hotels in Aruba
We went to Aruba for our HM last year. It was so beautiful and relaxing. It was perfect for our HM.
We stayed in the high-rise section, so I'm more familiar with that area.
We stayed at the Wyndham Aruba Resort, which has since changed ownership. It actually changed names more than once. We booked Wyndham, when we check in it was Aruba Resort & Casino, and now I believe it's a Westin.
While we enjoyed our trip, I don't know if we stay there again. It looks like they've made some changes, and small renovations, which is good. But there are too many other nice places to stay to warrant a repeat trip there. I've also read reviews online that they are buiding a new resort right next door and the construction is very noisy and distracting.
My DH and I agree that if we go back, we'd like to stay at the Hyatt. It's only a few hotels down from where we stayed, but it looked sooo nice.
I've heard great things about the Marriott too. We know a few people who have timeshares there. We didn't make it down to that end of the strip to check it out though.
Good luck!!

Re: Hotels in Aruba
are you interested in renting a private home with a pool?
My DH and I rented this beautiful home...2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms and a private pool....for the week It was wonderful. Of course no maid service but we loved having the place...especially the pool to ourselves. and it was a much better price than a hotel room
here is a link to the place.

Loved the raddisson. however if i were to go back i would probably pick a high rise and ask for a higher floor.

We have done that before with a group of friends in Turks and Caicos and loved it, but for just the two of us, we'd rather do a resort with a maid and someone to bring us drinks on the beach. That place looks awesome!

Re: Hotels in Aruba
we stayed at the renissance. What I really like about this hotel is you can walk to restaurants and shops, its the only hotel in the downtown area. The negative is that to get to the beach you take a boat from the hotel lobby. But the private island is so nice its worth it. I am actually thinking of going back this fall!
