Hotels in Santa Monica area
My Mom and I are going to Malibu for a wedding in Aug. Can anyone recommend a hotel that is not alot of $$ but is nice and kinda close to the beach. Thanks.

The Ambrose Hotel is nice. I don't remember how close to the beach it is, but it's near the Pier, so it must be close tot he beach. My firm renovated it.

We stayed at the Loews which was beautiful and right on the beach. However I thought that it was pretty pricy and the pool area was always super crowded and it was hard to get a seat. I dont know that I would recommend it.
