Hotels/Lodging/Cabins that are Pet-Friendly & Not Too Far?
We were thinking of going away & taking Rudy w/ us for a few days, maybe VT or upstate somewhere, thought I'd come here for some dog-friendly (and toddler-friendly ) recommendations (nothing TOO far).
Silly question..For those that go away w/ your dogs...What do you do in terms of eating & stuff...We can't leave him in the room b/c he'll cry too loud, so I think we'd pretty much bring him everywhere, plus it IS a family vacation, we do want him w/ us .
TIA.

OK - Any Kimpton Hotels are dog-friendly (not just tolerant). There is one in Boston, the Hotel Marlowe.
We've stayed at The Red Rose B&B in the Poconos, which is dog-friendly. Also at a B&B in VT but I wouldn't recommend it (this particular B&B). There is however a great web site - I will see if I can find it - that lists lodgings where dogs are welcome.
We would take our dog out with us and leave him in the car if it wasn't too hot or too cold, as opposed to leaving him in a hotel room.

Re: Hotels/Lodging/Cabins that are Pet-Friendly & Not Too Far?
We've brought Misty to Mystic,Connecticut, Manchester, New Hampshire and New Hope, PA. I believe all the Fairfield Inns (Marriott) are dog friendly and most Residence Inns are also. The most dog-friendly places I've been to are New Hope and Key West(Misty hasn't been there yet ). New Hope is great - most restaurants and stores allow the dogs in. They have water bowls all over the place for the dogs and there are quite a few funky pet stores there. There are quite a few B & B's that allow dogs. We generally walk around with Misty all day and take her to a park to get a good run in so she's tired - then bring her back to the room and crate her while we have dinner.
