house fire in RVC was my old neighbor across the street

Wow, my old neighbors house burned to the ground....

I lived for many years in the upstairs of a house in Rockville Centre. I grew to love the area and know all the neighbors. The house directly across the street was rebuilt by a young man, who had a wife and 2 small children at the time I lived there. I saw the picture in Newsday this morning and knew the second I saw it that it was this man's house. It says no one was home at the time, thankfully. I read on a FD site that there is actually nothing left of the house.



ETA: OMG!! IT wasn't HIS house, it was the house next door!!!! I just found pictures on a FD site and as sad as it was, it wasn't his house, it was the older couples house next door!!

Thankfully no one was hurt. How devastating to lose their home.

OMG!! IT wasn't HIS house, it was the house next door!!!! I j ust found pictures on a FD site and as sad as it was, it wasn't his house, it was the older couples house next door!!

So sad that they lost their house but thank god they werent home
