House Plants
I have a few house plants that aren't doing too well. A couple have brown spots on some the leaves. I've read that that means I am watering it too much or too little. Well, if it's too much and I slow down, I'm guessing that would be a good thing. How will I know, though? Will the leves repair themselves? Is that even possible? I water twice a week. Also, I have one plant that the leaves are dull and sort of see-through. What could this be?

Re: House Plants
Are you fertilizing them? You should add fertilizer 1x per month. You can get these little sticks or just use some miracle grow.
As for water, check the soil every other day for moistness. If it's dry to the touch, it's time to water. If it's not dry, don't water. Some plants I have to water once a week, others every 10 days or so - a couple I only water every other week.
ETA - Also read up about the type of plants you have and their sunlight requirements. They could also be getting too much or not enough light. Most likely, though, it's a lack of minerals / plant food (which will be fixed by fertilizing regularly and repotting if necessary).

Kara - Will the leaves repair themselves or should I cut the brown tips off?
